Job: Director, Medical/Surgical Unit

MedCath Inc. is a successful, publicly traded, for-profit hospital system that owns 10 hospitals and numerous diagnostic and therapeutic centers across the country. We are currently completing the construction of a new hospital (Hualapai Mountain Medical Center) in Kingman, AZ. The hospital will be a state-of-the-art facility providing general acute care and will have a bed capacity of 105. The facility will employ approximately 450 when fully staffed. Hualapai Mountain Medical Center is a new, state-of-the art, general acute care hospital that opened in Kingman, AZ in October of 2009. We are currently seeking a: Director, Medical/Surgical Unit

Reporting to the Vice President, Clinical Services this position is responsible for the day-to-day clinical operations of the Medical/Surgical Unit with regard to patient care management, resource management, fiscal management, knowledge and adherence to the Joint Commission, federal and state regulations. The position participates in direct care as needed with the remaining time involving managerial tasks and assumes, under the direction of the laboratory, responsibility for specimen testing, quality control, quality improvement and equipment maintenance.

Applicants must be a Registered Nurse from an accredited nursing program and with a current BLS certification. ACLS certification will be required within 6 months of employment. Ideally, the selected candidate will possess a minimum of 5-8 years of clinical experience in a critical/acute care setting including 2 years of management experience.
