Our Mission

At Sun Life Family Health Center, our mission is to deliver comprehensive, high quality services to all people in need of affordable, accessible and culturally effective primary care.

Humble beginnings:

Sun Life started in 1976, as an outgrowth of the Arizona Job College that provided job training for migrant and seasonal farm-workers.
Sun Life has grown from one full-time and one part-time physician providing 12,000 patient visits per year to 19 providers providing over 76,000 patient visits per year (2004).
Throughout the years, Sun Life has delivered care to the underserved and uninsured people living in rural Pinal County, many of whom had no access to care.

Sun Life is:
One of the first Community Health Centers (CHCs) in the state to use the Electronic Medical Record, which allows the provider to enter into a computer database all of the information that used to be written into the medical chart. The time required to complete the charting tasks is reduced, and the provider can see all past medical treatment at a glance.
Accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), the “gold standard” for quality in health care.
The largest provider of primary health care services in Pinal County.

The first practice in Pinal County to participate in the nationally acclaimed Reach Out and Read (ROR) program, a program to encourage readership and literacy in underserved communities.

Sun Life offers:Comprehensive health services, including family medicine and women's health services (OB/GYN)*. A dental clinic offering general and pediatric dentistry, as well as routine cleaning by a professional hygienist.
JCAHO accredited laboratory services.
